With regards to autism kids may display a wide selection and spectrum of symptoms. One autistic kid may have very critical symptoms and require full-time care for life while another kid with the same prognosis may be independent and high functioning, with just a few minor signs and symptoms of this problem. There are some common signs and symptoms that may indicate autism though, and three common areas where symptoms appear. If the Three main developmental areas are impacted then autism is usually diagnosed.

For a determination of autism to be reached the kid should be impaired in social interaction, the verbal and nonverbal communication should be considerably afflicted, and there are patterns and repeated behaviors that impact the passions and activities of the child. When all of these areas have symptoms then the doctor or professional may diagnose autism with full confidence. Each kid is individual and unique, and will have specific symptoms and behavior patterns that must be assessed.

With autism children can fall everywhere on the very intensive spectrum that makes up this medical condition. Often kids with severe types of the condition may not interact with others at all, and it is common for these children to lack empathy or show emotion. Lots of kids with this issue do best in a structured environment with a firm schedule and set activities that are expected.

Many autistic kids experience anxiety and stress if an unpredicted event happens or the daily routine is not followed properly for any excuse. This may result in an outburst from the kid simply because of the bad emotions experienced. A few autistic kids don't respond to touch at all and don't seem to feel a need to touch others, even guardians and other members of the family. Impaired communication is obvious in all cases of autism, but the level of incapacity in this area can differ from one case to the next.

In so many cases these kids will develop to be dependent adults who must be provided for, but this is not always true. A few autistic children can manage several tasks and have a small degree of social skills available.
