What are the signs and symptoms of autism in kids? There's no obvious answer, but there are many signs and symptoms that may show a problem and these should be carefully evaluated by a pediatrician or autism specialist. Usually the very first signs and symptoms of these problems will appear in babies, and are characterized by developmental delays. By one year old a kid should coo and babble, and they should be able to body language using their hands and wrists like waving as well as pointing. By 16 months old the child should be saying single words at least.

Kids who exhibit signs of developmental delays must always be assessed for any autism spectrum disorders. Early treatment could have a big effect on the capability of the kid eventually in life. Any child who doesn't use simple sentences, or at least words that include more than one word, by 2 years old may need proper diagnosis and therapy for autism. Kids build up at different rates, but if the child is beyond the point of even the slowest understanding level and difficulties are seen then professional assistance might be needed.

Autism in children is just a term applied when the kid doesn't develop like most kids. The degree of developmental delay can be minor or really extensive, and each case is individual and distinctive. The child may not respond to others in an appropriate way, and violent or intense tantrums may be noticed.

Kids who have any degree of autism may not respond whenever called by identity, and these kids may not be able to verbalize their demands and likes effectively. The child might crave order and routine, and any alterations might lead to great problems with the kid. Any child who seems to regress to an earlier developmental stage need to be assessed right away, because autism signs and symptoms could appear at any age.

Diagnosing autism in children might take a long time. A doctor will usually perform tests at certain time periods to assess just how severe the delay in development is and what the best treatment methods must be. The issues experienced by the child could vary from mild to severe.
